Powered industrial trucks (PITs), commonly known as forklifts, are essential tools in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and other industrial workplaces...
However, improper operation can lead to serious injuries, fatalities, property damage, and costly disruptions. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) requirements for powered industrial truck operator training under
29 CFR 1910.178. Designed for employees who operate or may be required to operate powered industrial trucks, this training covers regulatory requirements, forklift classifications, safe operating principles, load handling, workplace travel rules, inspections, and fueling and maintenance safety. Employees will gain the knowledge necessary to recognize common hazards, apply safe operating practices, and support compliance with OSHA training requirements.
